How to Grow Your Business and Build Local Partnerships

2 Hours PER DAY ON NEW BUSINESS

STEP 1: IDENTIFY YOUR PROSPECTS

Build a list of local contacts:
- Preschools & Childcare Centers
- Elementary Schools & Aftercare Programs
- Parks & Recreation Departments
- Youth Leagues & Community Associations
- HOAs & Community Centers

STEP 2: CHOOSE YOUR APPROACH

  • Scenario A: You don’t know if they offer enrichment programs

- Introduce Overtime Athletics as a local partner with 20+ sports programs
- Highlight that you offer flexible, fully-managed programming
- Ask if you can send more info or stop by with a brochure

  • Scenario B: You know they offer a competitor (e.g., Girls on the Run, Soccer Shots)
     

- Acknowledge and compliment the program they offer
- Emphasize OTA’s variety (20+ sports vs. 1)
- Offer to send a comparison sheet or explore how OTA can complement or expand what they already offer

STEP 3: EMAIL + PHONE + FOLLOW-UP

Intro Email (Sample):

Hi [Name], I’m [Your Name] with Overtime Athletics here in [City]. We partner with schools to offer fun and flexible sports enrichment for kids ages 3–12. We bring everything—coaches, curriculum, equipment—and offer over 20 different programs. Would it be okay if I sent over a quick brochure or video?

 

Follow-Up Call:

Hi [Name], I sent over an email recently—just wanted to follow up and see if I could drop off a brochure or send you a quick overview of our programs.

 

Follow-Up Email:

Hi [Name], just checking in on my previous email—I’d love to stop by and introduce myself or send a video showing how our enrichment programs work. We make it turnkey, fun, and flexible!

STEP 4: REPEAT THE PROCESS

If no response, move to the next contact at that school or organization. Keep it polite, persistent, and professional.
 

- Follow up every 3–5 business days
- Track your outreach and responses
- Repeat until you get a Yes, No, or Not Right Now

WEEKLY SALES ACTION PLAN

📌 Add 5–10 new local prospects to your outreach list each week.
✉️ Send 25–100 intro emails per week to new and warm contacts.
📞 Make 25–50 follow-up calls to reinforce your emails and schedule meetings.
📅 Aim to schedule 1–2 meetings per week with school directors, principals, or community leaders.
🤝 Target 1–2 new partnership agreements per month.
